Today was a bit of unexpected but happy news for DC fans. For a long time now, since February 27, 2025, we have known that Mattel struck a deal to make new DC action figures. What we did not know is when they would actually go into production and when we would see the fruits of that labor.
A bit ago on X there was a flurry of posts coming in around the Nuremburg International Toy Fair taking place and one of the posts that made waves was the first look at the first batch of DC action figures coming out. There was a framed poster that provided the info that the DC action figures would be coming out in Fall of 2026.
On the top of the poster we had Green Lantern John Stewart, Batman and Superman. On the lower half we have Deathstroke, Joker, another Batman, Robin and the Flash.

The tagline reads “NEW LEGENDS RISE – MATTEL REIMAGINES DC TOYLINE”. People on site were able to share that these figures would be 6.5″ budget-friendly figures aimed at kids, with collector-focused releases expected in 2027.
Credit goes to DCFilmNews on X as it was their post that came across my feed that alerted me to this update.
My initial thoughts on just seeing the figures from this poster is that if these are budget friendly and aimed at kids to start their collections I believe that is awesome. I am highly interested to see what these collector-focused releases will look like in 2027 and see how much different they are in price and quality compared to what McFarlane has put out for years which have been the standard amongst many online communities when it comes to action figures.
